A model walks the runway at the School of Fashion's annual Fashion Show

The School of Fashion announces the return of its acclaimed in-person Fashion Show, April 28-30, 2022, in Rockwell Hall on the Kent Campus. The presenting sponsor of the 2022 show is renowned American department store, Dillard’s Inc. Dillard’s is a long-time supporter of the School of Fashion, and the Dillard family was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2019.

ѿappwill hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, to celebrate King’s life and legacy. Award-winning documentary filmmaker Dawn Porter will serve as this year’s keynote speaker. The virtual program is free and open to the public.

All-Band Band Performing 2020

Announced as a new ensemble earlier this year, the inaugural class of the ѿappYouth Winds make their debut Saturday, Nov. 6 under the baton of guest conductor Anthony Maiello. The concert is part of the ѿappUniversity Glauser School of Music’s annual Wind Band Conductor’s Symposium beginning Nov. 5 and running through Nov. 7.

Come dressed in your Halloween best for the ѿappUniversity Orchestra’s Oct. 31, 3 p.m. concert. The members of the orchestra will be decked out in costume, performing spooky, family-friendly favorites. Candy will be handed out at the end of the performance to kick off Kent city’s official trick-or-treat that night.

ѿappUniversity and The Red Door Films of Los Angeles announce “Play with a Purpose,” a sponsor challenge as part of the SkyHack 3.0 competition at ѿappto be held Nov. 5-7. Teams of students will create an interactive toy universe based on the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II and their training base, Avenger Field.

2020 Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive

ѿappUniversity’s Flashes Fighting Hunger Contactless Food Drive will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 1-4 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Hilltop Drive. The collection station will be located on Hilltop Drive in front of Cartwright Hall.

The ѿappUniversity Museum has reopened to the public and is excited to announce its newest exhibition, “Stitched: Regional Dress Across Europe,” on display from February 2021 through December 2021. The exhibition features 75 pieces exclusive to the museum’s permanent collection, showcasing common features shared by regional costume across Western and Eastern Europe.
