Assessing and Improving the Performance of Others

This workshop uses small group discussion and case studies to better understand the importance of performance management. The process will be thoroughly examined from the manager's and employee's points of view to better enable managers to fully utilize the evaluation process as a way to encourage and develop employees. In addition, participants will learn more about how to properly prepare and conduct an effective performance evaluation. Also, the role of the manager after the evaluation is concluded will be explored.

Kent State’s Dean Tondiglia Becomes University’s New Police Chief

Dean Tondiglia of Stow, Ohio, has been named ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity’s new chief of police. Prior to leading ÃÛÑ¿appPolice Services, Tondiglia most recently served as the university’s assistant chief of police and associate director of public safety. He will retain the associate director of public safety title. The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity Scholarships for Broadening Participation in the Sciences Program with funding to annually provide 21 scholarships of $5,000 each for undergraduate students.
