Interior designer Madelyn Orcutt traveled abroad and in New York City as a student at Kent State

For Madelyn Orcutt, an interior designer who works for Richardson Design in Cleveland, the Kent State’s personal touch, beautiful campus and proximity to her Canton, Ohio, home influenced her decision to attend the university.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, few disciplines have seen as many changes as psychology. In order to help students address these emerging challenges, ѿappUniversity’s Department of Psychological Sciences is offering a slate of courses relevant to the changing trends impacting mental health today.

This is the second year in a row that the Flying Flashes have won the Air Race Classic and the Certified Flight Instructor of the year awards. Last year’s flight instructor competition was also won by one of our female students.

As an entrepreneurship major at Kent State, Schumann learned operations, production and finance in the classroom and gained on-the-job experience working with an entrepreneur in Cleveland.  In 2020, Schumann of Chagrin Falls gained the opportunity to put his ѿappeducation to work when he and his wife Marisa Sergi-Schumann acquired L’uva Bella Winery and Brands, a company that the Sergi family started more than 15 years ago.

ѿappUniversity will celebrate the Flying Flashes, Peyton Turner and Laura Wilson, who defended the team’s title by winning the 2023 Air Race Classic.

Mike Bowser is the president of Inspire Aviation and chair of the Props and Pistons Festival.

The Props and Pistons Festival has been held since 2013 and is planned and funded by Inspire Aviation, a non-profit organization whose goal is promoting aviation and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education. New research methods and topics have emerged as society has taken a greater interest in mental health issues specifically when it comes to cognitive psychology, which includes how we process music or how motivation fosters in the brain.

Renato “Ren” Camacho of North Canton, Ohio, has been appointed to the ѿappUniversity Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. Camacho, who currently serves as president and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport, brings expertise in both economic development and aviation to the ѿappBoard.

After a national search, Alison Caplan has been selected as the new director of ѿappUniversity’s May 4 Visitors Center, a museum that tells the story of the shootings at ѿappon May 4, 1970, set in the context of the 1960s.
