Title IX Celebrates 50 Years

Kent Student Center is still the heartbeat of the campus

The Kent Student Center is approaching a major milestone, its 50th anniversary, having opened in January 1973 as the largest student union east of the Mississippi River and the sixth largest in the nation. 

ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity's 2022 Alumni Award Recipients

Sponsored by the ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity Alumni Association, the Alumni Awards are the university’s highest alumni honors. Recipients are selected based on their exceptional professional and civic contributions and for their outstanding support of the university. The 2022 Alumni Award recipients include six alumni and one student.

ÃÛÑ¿appenjoys the Community Food Truck Series on Risman Plaza

A variety of food trucks gather in front of the University Library on Wednesdays to supply students, faculty and staff passing by with a quick bite to eat. And the ÃÛÑ¿appcommunity is taking advantage of it.

Homecoming 2022

The first full week of fall is also the most spirited week at ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity. The week of Sept. 26 to Oct. 1 is Spirit Week and includes homecoming weekend at Kent State. The week will be full of events celebrating ÃÛÑ¿appspirit.

Students Sydney Marksberry and Austin Brewster at the U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships

This past summer, two ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity students were awarded medals in the U.S. Collegiate Figure Skating Championships, sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating, the national governing body for the sport of figure skating in the country. It is the highest level at which figure skating takes place at the college level.

ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity’s Class of 2026 form a K on campus.

ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity’s Class of 2026 has arrived on the Kent Campus in strong numbers – 4,251 to be exact – an increase of nearly 7% over the previous year, the largest class since before the pandemic and the eighth largest incoming class in the university’s 112-year history.
