Lauren Luna (B.F.A. ’00, Painting) has let nothing get in her way of her goal of making a living as an artist. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she moved to New York City shortly after graduating ѿappUniversity with her B.F.A. and then ultimately to the city of Houston, Texas in 2011 to realize her dream.
The ѿappMuseum’s newest exhibition, “Fortuna: Designs by Vincent Quevedo,” marks the first new exhibition for the museum since its reopening in August and is on display now. It features works by award-winning designer and School of Fashion Associate Professor Vincent Quevedo.
ѿappUniversity Assistant Professor of Painting Shawn Powell is being featured in a two-person show at Cleveland’s new Abattoir Gallery now through Sept. 5. One of Powell's paintings was featured in Vanity Fair this August.
The School of Art Collection and Galleries at ѿappUniversity presents “Acquiring History: The 50-Year Legacy of Robert Smithson’s ‘Partially Buried Woodshed’ at ѿappUniversity” from Aug. 4 through Sept. 26, 2020, at the Kent State Downtown Gallery.
ѿappUniversity brought home the gold after this year’s Akron ADDY Awards, with both professionals and students being recognized for their work. The ADDYs, put on by the Akron Chapter of the American Advertising Federation, celebrate the area’s best creative work in advertising.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Porthouse Theatre has decided to cancel all of its educational programs for the summer of 2020, including the High School Shadow Program, the Porthouse College Academy, and the Porthouse International Academy.
In his professional career as a glassblower, ѿappUniversity alumnus Dan Alexander has done a lot in the decade since graduating with a B.F.A. in Craft in 2010.
