ѿappUniversity’s season of giving launched on Nov. 1 with Giving Tuesday, a monthlong celebration of philanthropy. Now halfway through the campaign, the generosity of the ѿappcommunity has already begun to shine.
ѿappUniversity, which has gained national recognition for its creative and successful Giving Tuesday campaigns, launched its monthlong celebration of philanthropy on Nov. 1. Giving Tuesday, now in its eighth year at Kent State, has raised nearly $7 million during that time, which illuminates the impact that can be made when Golden Flashes come together.
The 2021 Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) recipients are an outstanding group of teachers who are truly dedicated to their students' success. Sponsored by the ѿappAlumni Association, the DTA is a highly prestigious honor in teaching. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching, whether it be in the classroom or online.
Campus was overflowing with blue and gold pride again this year as the ѿappUniversity community came together to celebrate Homecoming. Golden Flashes enjoyed many activities, both outdoors in-person and online, throughout the weekend, which ran from Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3.
ѿappUniversity publicly launched a $350 million comprehensive fundraising campaign Saturday, Oct. 2. During a special halftime announcement at the Homecoming football game, campaign co-chairs Sandra C. and Lawrence R. Armstrong joined ѿappPresident Todd Diacon to publicly unveil Forever Brighter to thousands of alumni, donors and friends.
It’s reunion time for the ѿappUniversity Golden Flashes family. ѿappcelebrated Homecoming 2021 with a week of activities and events leading up to the Oct. 2 Homecoming Parade and Homecoming football game.
Each year, hundreds of nominations are submitted to ѿappUniversity, showcasing some of the best and brightest alumni and students who excel in their fields and communities. This year, seven alumni and one student will be honored as 2021 Alumni Awards recipients.
The National Collegiate Honors Council has announced ѿappUniversity Honors College graduate Sarah Hagglund as a 2021 Portz Scholar. Hagglund is the 10th honors student from ѿappto be named a Portz Scholar since the national competition began in 1990.
The Podiatry Foundation, located in Independence, Ohio, is laying the groundwork to help secure the financial and academic future of Ohio’s only podiatry college – ѿappUniversity College of Podiatric Medicine.
