Flasher Brass Pep Band
Flasher Brass Pep Band is ѿappUniversity’s pep band which performs at men’s and women’s home baskeball games, post-season MAC and NCAA tournament games, and a variety of other ѿappathletic and community events.
Auditions
Flasher Brass is now accepting auditions for the 2024-2025 season
1. Complete the interest form below
2. Video submissions will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25.
4. Upload a video link to YouTube, making sure that “Visibility” is set to “Unlisted” for your privacy.
5. Email your video to bands@kent.edu by Wednesday, September 252 at 11:59 p.m.
Audition materials
Brass/Woodwinds/Bass Guitar/Guitar
- Two-octave chromatic scale (to demonstrate range)
- One minute of prepared music
- Prepared music may be one piece with contrasting parts or two different pieces, demonstrating beauty of tone, phrasing and musicality, and technical ability. It is recommended you prepare a “classical” selection (ex. A piece from OMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival catalog), but you are welcome to choose whatever you believe will best demonstrate your abilities. We encourage you to play your audition on whichever instrument you feel most comfortable, marching or concert.
Drumset
- Please email bands@kent.edu to arrange an audition. Please be prepared to demonstrate the following styles; Rock, swing, funk, shuffle, samba, mambo.
Audition results will be announced no later than October 1, 2024.
