ѿappAnnounces Full Attendance for 2021 Fall Sports Season

ѿappUniversity Athletics has announced all sports facilities, including Dix Stadium, the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center) and Murphy-Mellis Field, will be at full capacity for the fall 2021 sport season. This is in line with the announcement by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine removing most COVID-19 health orders.

“We could not be more excited to see our passionate fans have an opportunity to return in full capacity for the upcoming fall sports season,” said ѿappDirector of Athletics . “Our Golden Flashes fans are such a big part of what we do. They give us a great home-field advantage. Having the opportunity to see them back will be a welcomed sight for our student-athletes.”

“We are thrilled to announce that Dix Stadium will be back at full capacity this fall!” exclaimed ѿapphead football coach . “We can’t wait to celebrate lifelong memories and share FlashFAST traditions with all of you in 2021!”

A member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), the Golden Flashes football team will open its home slate on Saturday, Sept. 11, against Virginia Military Institute at Dix Stadium. The game will kick off at 11:30 a.m. and can be seen on ESPN 3/+ and heard on the ѿappRadio Network. The Golden Flashes will host Bowling Green State University on Saturday, Oct. 2 (Homecoming), University at Buffalo on Saturday Oct. 9, Northern Illinois University on Wednesday, Nov. 3, and Miami University on Saturday, Nov. 27.

“With the word of going back to full capacity for the MAC Center for this upcoming fall volleyball season, our program couldn’t be more ecstatic,” shared ѿapphead women’s volleyball coach . “Our players feed off the energy of our fans, friends and families, alumni, student body and cheerleaders, and we can’t wait to create one of the most exciting environments in MAC volleyball! See you all packin’ the MAC Center soon!”

“We are so excited to welcome back our entire Golden Flashes family back to Murphy-Mellis Field this fall!” said ѿapphead field hockey coach . “Our supporters are an integral part of our program’s success, so we are very grateful to have our families, friends and alums in the stands while we contend for another MAC title!”

“Kent State’s soccer program is thrilled of the news that our fans, families and friends will be in attendance this year!” said ѿapphead women’s soccer coach . “We have always loved our support group and look forward to a thrilling season with everyone in the stands. Go Flashes!”

Details regarding the volleyball, field hockey and soccer fall schedules will be forthcoming this summer. Remaining flexible and adjusting to any developments with the virus and to changes in state, county and local health guidelines, the university may adjust this attendance policy at any point.
