Jackson Athlete Signs with Wrestling Team

ѿappUniversity at Tuscarawas is announcing the signing of a Jackson High School graduating senior to their wrestling team. On May 10, Braxton Freeman signed a Letter of Intent to wrestle for the ѿappTuscarawas Golden Eagles Wrestling Team.

Freeman was a three-year letter winner for the Polar Bears wrestling team. He was an Ohio High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament qualifier this year, while compiling a 41-14 record in his final season on the mat for the purple and gold. Freeman was named to the Second Team of the Federal League and All-County wrestling teams and broke Jackson’s pin record this year. He finished the season with 25 pins, eclipsing the old mark by two.

“Braxton is a fine young man and a great athlete as well and we are very fortunate to him coming to ѿappTuscarawas,” said Dave Schlarb, Head Wrestling Coach for ѿappTuscarawas. “He certainly has the tools to become a champion at the college level and had great preparation during his phenomenal career at Jackson High School. He is very soft-spoken and very humble, but look out on the mat, because he is lightning quick and can turn the tables on you in a New York minute. Braxton is a great addition to our campus and community and I look forward to helping him realize his academic as well as his athletic goals.”

ѿappTuscarawas is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
