"First Journey", a poem by ÃÛÑ¿appUniversity at Ashtabula associate professor of English Roger Craik, Ph.D., was featured in the latest issue of ÃÛÑ¿appMagazine (Spring 2016). The poem, which reflects on Craik's first solo train ride as an eight-year-old boy in England, is part of the Traveling Stanzas series and is included in Craik's sixth book of poetry, Down Stranger Roads.
Traveling Stanzas is an award-winning collaboration between the Wick Poetry Center and the School of Visual Communication Design and aims to facilitate a global conversation through the intimate and inclusive voice of poetry. Featured poems are curated from global submissions and illustrated by ÃÛÑ¿appstudents and alumni.
The online edition also features a video of Craik reading the poem.
